Jurassic World Dominion is the final chapter in the series’ latest trilogy. But how will fans be able to watch the film, and will it be streaming?
When Jurassic Park initially hit theaters in 1993, the ensuing phenomenon born from it couldn’t have been predicted. That said, almost 30 years later, the franchise and the original film have impacted the imaginations of millions and have continued to do so with the next iteration of the series, Jurassic World. But once again, another era has reached its twilight with the upcoming release of Jurassic World Dominion.
Unlike the previous two films in the series, Dominion has set itself up to be both a celebration and finale for two eras of characters. As a result, fans will be clamoring to see the conclusion of the franchise. However, some may be unable to hit the theaters during its theatrical run. But for those who can’t see the epic conclusion 65 million years in the making, where can fans watch the film, and will it be on a streaming service?
To understand Jurassic World Dominion’s significance and overall plot, it’s imperative to recap what happened in the previous two films. In Jurassic World, a brand-new park inspired by John Hammond’s initial dream opened and was a rousing success for the most part. But as geneticists and business executives strived for more interesting attractions, they created a new dinosaur that broke out and caused chaos. In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the dinosaurs that roamed the remains of Jurassic World were ferried off the island before being destroyed in a volcanic eruption. But what seemed like a rescue effort was actually an auction that put these creatures into the hands of other genetic companies and resulted in dinosaurs being allowed to roam free.
Jurassic World Dominion picks up where the last film left off as characters from the original and new trilogies join forces to try and stop the genetic nightmare they all, in some way, contributed to. But to do so, they must also contend with new creations like the supermassive Giganotosaurus. To make things even more dangerous, Jurassic World protagonist Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) must also rescue the child of the last surviving raptor in his pack, Blue.
