Many of us have gone out to our front yards during the summer to see the outrageous fireworks displays. If you’re not into the redneck flair, you might have seen some of the annual shows put on by major corporations like Wal-Mart and Kmart that make us all laugh. Some say it’s just a cheap way to make a little cash, but we know better.
They’re hilarious, yet quite inventive to show off their marketing campaigns to the country.
Here’s a collection of funny pics and crazy fireworks pictures we collected over the years. As someone just said to me, “Man, I hope you’re not getting on Wal-Mart’s bad side!” I mean, who would want to make their boss think you think fireworks are funny?
If you have any pictures of your own that you want to share, email them to us, and we’ll post it here and on the FFRF Web site. Thanks!
If you’re wondering how you’d make your boss think you want fireworks, here’s a great example. In 1992, Wal-Mart filed a lawsuit against Kmart for stocking fireworks and selling them to their customers. Although Kmart later agreed to stop selling fireworks, Wal-Mart refused to drop the case, saying it would continue to go to court to defend its right to sell fireworks.
It turns out Wal-Mart has a bit of a bad reputation among neighbors for causing fireworks problems. It was partly because of a horrible accident in 1980 in Connecticut in which an intoxicated man from Connecticut crossed a driveway to get away from a Wal-Mart shopper who had just spit on him. The drunk man collided with the man, who died, but the lawsuit against Wal-Mart resulted in a $3 million settlement.
Have you had trouble with fireworks? Were they funny pics, crazy, or nasty?

The images in the following section are still images of fireworks photos we’ve collected over the years. They’re funny, strange, crazy, or just plain weird. While many of them show celebrations in major cities across the country, they also show the many crazy, funny, and funny displays people have set up in the backyard or on the front porch.
Fun Fact Friday
I’m a proud member of the Unrelenting Atheist Community and the Friendly Atheist Community, and I have some good friends at both of these wonderful communities. Since we’ve been working on Fun Facts Friday, I’ve been posting photos from our two communities to help the people at each community see the funnier fireworks photos from our blogs.
If you’re in one of the communities, feel free to post some more fireworks photos. It helps to show off what a funny and happy community we are, and hopefully will make some people think they might enjoy the Fun Facts Friday posts.
