Celebrity Cruise Line has remained one of the greatest innovators in the industry. The Celebrity Cruises Fleet

The brand has 12 relatively big ships grouped into three classes or groups. Here is a look at the classes in the Celebrity Cruise line:

Edge class 

The ship in this class includes Celebrity Edge (2018), Celebrity Apex (2020), and Celebrity Beyond (2022). If you are the type of cruiser who prefers the new ship, this is probably the line for you. The Edge class began cruising in 2018, and the fleet is among the most advanced in the innovation of the Celebrity Cruise Line.

These ships are designed to carry 3,260 passengers, and all feature new innovative features, such as the Infinite Veranda cabin with an entire glass outward-facing wall. They also have 90-ton platforms the size of a tennis court used for all functions.

Solstice Class

The ship in this class includes Celebrity Solstice (2008), Celebrity Equinox (2009), Celebrity Eclipse (2010), Celebrity Silhouette (2011), and Celebrity Reflection (2012). This is the most significant class in Celebrity Cruise Line and accounts for half of the brand’s total capacity.

The Solstice class is the class you will sail with the most when you become a Celebrity regular. The class also sails almost everywhere, including the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Asia, Alaska, Europe, and Australia.

The ships are a little smaller compared to the Edge class but are also known for their innovative features such as the half-acre Lawn Club, which has real grass with full-time grass keeper throughout the cruise.

Millennium Class

The ships in this class include the Celebrity Millennium (2000), Celebrity Infinity (2001), Celebrity Summit (2001), and Celebrity Constellation (2002). As their name suggests, these classes started operation in 2000, almost 20 years ago. Despite their age, the ships are well-maintained and look new due to the recent major overhauls.

The significant difference between the Solstice and Millennium Class is the size of the ships. The Millennium ships are 30% smaller than the Solstice fleet, making them ideal for cruisers who prefer more intimate sailing experiences. The millennium ships have fewer venues when compared to the Edge class or Solstice class.

Galápagos vessels

The ships in this class include Celebrity Xpedition (2001), Celebrity Xploration (2007), and Celebrity Flora (2019). These three vessels are very small and operate on The Galápagos Islands. Each ship in this class is very different, but they are grouped since they offer the same cruising experience.

The ships also have fewer amenities than what is found on the bigger vessels in other classes. You will not get the same onboard attractions as those on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice. It is, however, okay since sailing in the Galápagos Islands is not about the time you spend on board but about experiencing the unique wildlife there. To do that, you will need to get off the ship.

The highlight of the Galápagos vessels is the daily landings and viewing of famous destinations to see the famous tortoises, land iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and Darwin’s finches. The most luxurious vessel on this fleet can accommodate 100 passengers and features two restaurants with menus crafted by celebrated chefs.
